Webex Integration Guide
Connect Terapage to Webex so researchers can import recorded interviews, transcribe them, analyse the discussion, and turn external Webex conversations into structured Terapage research data.
What it does
The Webex integration lets researchers connect a Webex account and bring recorded interview files into Terapage for transcription, coding, summaries, themes, sentiment, and reporting.
Who uses it
Research teams, moderators, operations teams, agencies, and client-side insight teams who already run interviews, expert calls, or stakeholder sessions in Webex.
Best for
One-to-one interviews, recorded customer conversations, stakeholder interviews, discovery sessions, expert interviews, and external research sessions conducted outside Terapage.
Before you start
- You must be a Terapage workspace admin or have permission to import external interviews.
- You must be able to authorise Terapage to access your Webex recording library.
- The Webex recording should already have the correct participant consent and permissions for research use.
- Supported uploaded interview files can include video or audio files. For video, common formats include MP4, AVI, MOV, and WMV.
1. Start from Research Activities
Open the relevant Terapage project or study workspace.
Go to Research Activities and click Create Research Activity.
Choose Import External Interview. This tells Terapage that the interview was conducted outside the platform and should be imported for analysis.
2. Choose Webex as the recording source
In the import screen, select the file type, such as Video or Audio.
Click Upload from WebEx to connect to your Webex recording library.
Confirm the interview mode and format, for example Video and One-to-One Interview, so Terapage can apply the right analysis structure.
3. Authorise Terapage to access Webex recordings
When prompted, click Login with Webex. Webex will ask you to authenticate and authorise Terapage. Once connected, Terapage can retrieve recordings you select for import and analysis.
4. Import, transcribe, and analyse the interview
Select the recording
Choose the Webex recording you want to analyse, then confirm the study, activity name, interview mode, and interview format.
Run Terapage analysis
Terapage processes the recording, generates a transcript, prepares AI summaries, and makes the interview available for coding, themes, reports, and insight publishing.
What Terapage can produce from a Webex interview
| Output | How it helps researchers |
|---|---|
| Transcript | Turns the Webex recording into searchable text that can be reviewed, coded, and exported. |
| AI summary | Provides a quick overview of the discussion, key themes, participant views, and important moments. |
| Coding and themes | Helps researchers organise evidence, compare responses, and build insight reports faster. |
| Sentiment and highlights | Identifies emotional tone, strong opinions, pain points, and quotable moments. |
| Reports and exports | Supports downstream reporting, stakeholder sharing, and analysis across wider study data. |
Recommended workflow
- Create a dedicated Import External Interview activity for recordings from Webex.
- Use clear activity names, such as Webex Stakeholder Interviews - May 2026.
- Set the correct interview format before analysis, especially when comparing one-to-one interviews against group discussions.
- Review the transcript after processing and correct speaker labels where needed.
- Use Terapage coding, themes, summaries, and reports to combine Webex interviews with other study data.
Troubleshooting
| Issue | What to check |
|---|---|
| Cannot connect Webex | Confirm that you are using a Webex account with permission to access recordings and authorise third-party apps. |
| Recording is not visible | Check that the recording has finished processing in Webex and that the connected account owns or can access it. |
| Upload takes time | Large video files can take several minutes to upload, transcribe, and analyse. Terapage will notify you when processing is complete. |
| Wrong interview format | Go back and select the correct mode or format before running analysis, especially for group sessions. |
